What makes us great
We train at Erlanger, the county hospital for urban Chattanooga, and its large rural catchement area. Our emergency department sees 90,000 patients per year. We are the only level one trauma center in a 120 mile radius. Read more about our program.
Meet our residents
We are a three year program, with seven residents in each class. See who we are.
Where is Chattanooga anyway?
Voted "Best Town Ever" by Outside Magazine, Chattanooga sits in the heart of world class rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater. Read about why it's so great to live here.
Made in Chattanooga
Our residents, alumni, and faculty are changing emergency medicine. Here's a sample of our most influential works:
  • 5 minute sono. A library of point of care ultrasound educational videos created by alumnus Jacob Avila, MD.
  • Ultrasound of the Week. A point of care ultrasound blog created by faculty Ben Smith, MD.
  • 5 minute vent. A primer on ventilator management by alumnus Steve Haywood, MD.
